About us

Mrs Nicola Rielly
Executive Headteacher

Thank you for visiting  Our Lady's School website

Our Lady's is a small primary school in Dalton- in Furness,  Cumbria. We currently have 115 pupils on roll,  including 13 Nursery pupils. We are well resourced and privileged to offer small Class sizes.

We are a very  welcoming school with an Open Door Policy so parents can come and discuss any needs or concerns as soon as possible.  Our  Staff are very dedicated and have excellent relationships with parents. We are exceedingly proud of our working partnership with parents.

The Pupils, Staff and  Federation Governors are all very proud of our School and we strive to ensure that Our Lady's School provides  a happy, caring  environment where everyone works hard and achieves their best.  Our aim is to give our Pupils the skills to become life long learners so that they can become exemplary citizens of the future.

Our  Nursery opened in September 2014 and from an initial intake of 6 pupils this has now increased to 13 pupils - (November 2015).  Within a short space of time our Nursery is now placed in high regard within the local community.  It is a proud addition to our Early Years provision - 'The Early Years is now a strength of the school, with curriculum planning and well-resourced provision being significant factors.' - (Ofsted 2012)

Here at Our Lady's School  we offer many exciting and creative learning opportunities, including Forest Schools. Our School’s curriculum is excellent because it is creative and imaginative.' 'The imaginative ways in which the curriculum is brought to life complement thorough whole-school planning.' (Ofsted 2012)

We provide a variety of extra-curricular activities  throughout the year including table tennis, netball, football, knitting and  cross-stitch.

We understand that deciding the right school for your child is an extremely important and often difficult decision.  We believe the best way to understand what Our Lady's School would  provide for you and your child is to come and visit our School.  We would be delighted to show you around.  Please arrange a visit to see what we have to offer.
